ზურაბ აზარაშვილი, ოფიციალური ვიზიტით, აშშ-ში იმყოფება. ჯანდაცვის მინისტრი ჰეპატიტების ელიმინაციისადმი მიძღვნილ ღონისძიებას დაესწრო, რომელიც გაეროს გენერალური ასამბლეის 77-ე სესიის პარალელურად იმართება.

ღონისძიებაზე, ზურაბ აზარაშვილმა C ჰეპატიტის ელიმინაციის ქართული მოდელის პრეზენტაცია წარადგინა და აღნიშნა, რომ საქართველოს აქვს უნიკალური შესაძლებლობა, გახდეს პირველი ქვეყანა, რომელიც 2025 წლისთვის 21-ე საუკუნის ორ ძირითად ეპიდემიას - აივ/შიდსი და C ჰეპატიტი ერთდროულად დაასრულებს.

„საქართველოს C ჰეპატიტის ელიმინაციის პროგრამა განსხვავდება სხვა ქვეყნების გაფართოებული მკურნალობის ხელმისაწვდომობის პროგრამებისგან, სადაც მკურნალობა ძირითადად უტარდებათ პაციენტებს, რომლებმაც იციან თავიანთი HCV სტატუსი და მიმართავენ კლინიკებს, მაშინ, როდესაც საქართველოს პროგრამა ეფუძნება შემთხვევების აქტიურ აღმოჩენას, სხვადასხვა ინტერვენციების საშუალებით. შემთხვევების აქტიური აღმოჩენის ერთ-ერთი საუკეთესო დემონსტრირება არის ინოვაციური პროექტი C ჰეპატიტის, ტუბერკულოზისა და აივ ინფექციის ინტეგრირებული სკრინინგისა და გამოვლენის შესახებ“, - განაცხადა ზურაბ აზარაშვილმა.

მაღალი დონის შეხვედრაზე, C ჰეპატიტის ელიმინაციის მხრივ, საქართველოს მიღწევებს გაესვა ხაზი და აღინიშნა, რომ ამ მიმართულებით საქართველო ლიდერი ქვეყანაა.

ჰეპატიტების ელიმინაციისადმი მიძღვნილ ღონისძიებაზე „გაეროს მეგობართა ჯგუფი ჰეპატიტების ელიმინაციისთვის“ დაფუძნდა, რომლის მიზანიც 2030 წლისთვის, გაეროს მდგრადი განვითარებისა და ჯანმრთელობის მსოფლიო ორგანიზაციის მიზნების შესაბამისად, C ჰეპატიტის ელიმინაციაა.

ღონისძიებაზე საქართველომ და სხვა წევრმა ქვეყნებმა მეგობართა ჯგუფის შექმნის დეკლარაციასაც მოაწერეს ხელი. შეხვედრაზე აღინიშნა, რომ საქართველოს, როგორც ლიდერი ქვეყნის ჩართულობა სხვა წევრ სახელმწიფოებისა და საერთაშორისო ორგანიზაციებისთვის მნიშვნელოვანია.
