დაუნის სინდრომის მსოფლიო დღე (WDSD) ცნობიერების ამაღლების გლობალური დღეა.  იგი გაერთიანებული ერების ორგანიზაციის მიერ ოფიციალურად ყოველწლიურად 2012 წლიდან, აღინიშნება. ორგანიზაცია Down Syndrome International (DSI)-ს მიზანი მოსახლეობის ცნობიერების ამაღლება და დაუნის სინდრომის მქონე პირთა საზოგადოებაში ინტეგრირებაა.

 

დაუნის სინდრომი - ყველაზე გავრცელებული ქრომოსომული გენეტიკური ცვლილებაა, რომლის დროსაც ნაცვლად 46 ქრომოსომისა, გვხვდება დამატებით ერთი ქრომოსომა 21-ე წყვილში. აღნიშნულ ფაქტს 21-ე წყვილის ტრისომია ეწოდება. დაავადება გვხვდება მსოფლიოს ყველა რეგიონში და მისი გამომწვევი მიზეზები ამ დრომდე უცნობია. აღნიშნული სინდრომით ყოველწლიურად 3 000-დან 5 000–მდე ბავშვი იბადება. საქართველოში, 2016 წელს 0-5 წლამდე ბავშვებში რეგისტრირებული იყო 36 შემთხვევა ინციდენტობა 13.6 /100 000, 0-1 წლამდე ასაკის ბავშვებში ასევე 36 შემთხვევა ინციდენტობა 0.4/100 000.

 

დაუნის სინდრომის მქონე ადამიანთა ინტეგრირებისათვის განსაკუთრებით მნიშვნელოვანი როლი ჯანდაცვის სისტემების ხელმისაწვდომობას,  ინდივიდუალური ზრდისა და განვითარების ადრეული ჩარევის პროგრამებს ენიჭება. ასევე აუცილებელია  ინკლუზიური განათლებაც.

 

2011 წლის დეკემბერში გაერთიანებული ერების ორგანიზაციის გენერალურმა ასამბლეამ 21 მარტი დაუნის სინდრომის მსოფლიო დღედ გამოაცხადა. უწყებამ მოუწოდა გაეროს წევრ ყველა ქვეყანას, აგრეთვე მის სტრუქტურაში შემავალ სააგენტოებს, არასამთავრობო ორგანიზაციებს, კერძო სექტორის წარმომადგენლებსა და სამოქალაქო სექტორის აქტივისტებს 2012 წლიდან ეს თარიღი ყოველწლიურად აღენიშნათ. რას ვმატებ საზოგადოებას - ამ გზავნილით დაუნის სინდრომის მსოფლიო დღე 2018 წელს მე-13 აღინიშნება. მთავარ აქცენტს დაუნის სინდრომის მქონე ადამიანების მიერ საზოგადოების განვითარების საქმეში მნიშვნელოვანი წვლილის შეტანა წარმოადგენს. საუბარია ისეთ საკითხებზე, როგორიცაა სკოლა, სამსახური, საზოგადოებრივი, პოლიტიკური თუ კულტურული ცხოვრება, ასევე საინფორმაციო საშუალებები, დასვენებისა და სპორტის განვითრების საქმე.

 

დაუნის სინდრომის მსოფლიო დღის თარიღის შერჩევის მიზეზი 21-ე ქრომოსომის ტრისომიის უნიკალურობისათვის ხაზგასმის სურვილი გახდა.

 

საქართველოში დაუნის სინდრომის მსოფლიო დღე უკვე მეშვიდედ აღინიშნება. დაუნის სინდრომის მქონე ადამიანთა შესაძლებლობების გამოვლენის ხელშეწყობისთვის საზოგადოების ჩართულობა და აქტიურობა განსაკუთრებით მნიშვნელოვანია.

 

აუცილებელია, დაუნის სინდრომის მქონე ადამიანებს ჰქონდეთ საშუალება დამოუკიდებლად მიიღონ გადაწყვეტილებები და თავად აკონტროლონ საკუთარი ცხოვრება. საზოგადოების მხრიდან კი საჭიროებენ მხარდაჭერას, რათა შეძლონ იყვნენ ქმედუნარიანნი და იგრძნონ თავი საზოგადოების თანასწორუფლებიან წევრად.

 

2013 წლიდან დაუნის სინდრომის საერთაშორისო ორგანიზაციის ინიციატივით დამკვიდრდა „უთვალავი წინდის“ (LOTS OF SOCKS) ტრადიცია. კამპანიის მიზანი მასობრივი სოლიდარობის ორიგინალურად გამოხატვაა. ფერადი წინდის შეძენით ადამიანები იქცევენ გარშემომყოფთა ყურადღებას, ავრცელებენ ინფორმაციას და იღებენ სოციალურ პასუხისმგებლობას. მათ საკუთარი წვლილი შეაქვთ დაუნის სინდრომის საერთაშორისო ორგანიზაციის ფონდში, რომელიც უფლებების დაცვასა და სტიგმის დაძლევაზე მუშაობს.
